I am not sure if the VT is 'normal' or if it is positive switching like the VY and onward.

If the light bar is coming back on, it sounds like you have the wiring back to front for the switching relay.

VT - VZ head lights and are negatively switched.
Tail, park and stop lights on these models are positively switched.

On ya relay.....
Pin 85 to + on the battery.
Pin 86 to 'Green' (earth) high beam wire at the headlights.
Pin 30 to + on the battery (or spice it into the + wire on Pin 85).
Pin 87 to the positive wire on your driving light/s
Make sure your driving light/s are grounded properly,
or connect the earth wire from the driving lights to a good ground source.

Install a switch (mandatory by law) in line, from either: Pin 85 or 86.
You MUST be able to switch off the driving lights, independently of the high beam switch.
And they MUST only come on with the high beam.

Hey Sixes!

I know this is a old thread but I really need help!

Just wanting to know if there is a way of wiring up aftermarket fog lights to the factory fog light wiring loom in a "00" vx commodore executive using the standard relay and factory switch already in the car?

I have spent the last two days trying to install a SCA shift driving lamp kit in my car (perfect size and shape to fit into the front bumper on my car) I have been racking my brain trying to get them to work until I found your post and wanted to ask if there was another way to do it while using everything in the car already.

If you can help me out I would really appreciate it hey, if you could do any diagrams, etc that would be awesome!!!!

Follow the diagram as posted.

Positive wired to pin 30 of the relay
Pin 86 to the GREEN / BROWN side of the headlight plug
Pin 85 to the WHITE w BLACK TRACE / BLACK w WHITE trace

I currently have a Baja Design light bar wired up as per diagram.

Hey guys!
Tried to follow the diagram from 1 page and use some advises above, however I just can’t make it work properly... my current setup is shown on picture. Red and black cables from adaptor connected to green and white with black cables on healight plug.

So currently I can turn my bar anytime I want by using button inside my car. So somehow it works independently from high beams

Relay has no markings such as 85 or 85 and 5 cables coming in/out: white goes to adaptor (adaptor has 3 cables in/out), black, red and black from light bar, red to fuse

Help ;)
