Geeeeee..... I would like to have your Calais 6.0 Walkinshaw exhaust noise now because on our 6.0 ltr Caprice V all I hear is Shiesssssssssss, and more Shiesssssssssss, God knows what Holden did to quieten a V8 that much than you can't hear it.

hahaha, yeah it's true I was pretty amazed at how you make a V8 sound like a quiet 4cyl.

First thing I got done was VCM OTR, 1 3/4 Genies, 2.5" dual magnaflow and magnaflow mufflers/100cel cats and because it's a daily j-pipes.

I should take a video of it, The 6.0 can and does sound good with just an exhaust/tune. OP needs to find a reputable shop and yeah, go for it - it's a V8 make it sound like one!

I need to find a reputable shop and go for it? Did you not read I already have 4-1 headers and DPE catback?
I just want it louder

Would loosening the rear flanges to the mufflers, and putting something in one section to create a small gap (like a 5 or 10 cent piece) work too?

any downsides?

Technically 'unroadworthy' due to exhaust leaks.

Not too concerned with that, no more/ less illegal than cutouts.....

more concerned with the volume / note.

would it be substantial with a coin or similar in the rear flange?

It will probably sound like an exhaust leak...
Why not get a pair of DPE rear mufflers?
If they end up being too loud, get bimodal valves fitted to one tip on each muffler.
