Those round plugs seem to be an SA thing. No one I've seen in Tasmania run them, same in Vic and NSW I believe. The rumour is round ones are being phased out yet I know lots of people in SA still use them, and I believe new trailers in SA are still fitted with round plugs?

Yeah exactly, the only cars I've seen the round ones on is in SA.

Got some pics of my old bumper & what it has looked like since l put the towbar on, nearly 10 years ago.

When I fitted the towbar to my VX S pack sedan, I just bolted the 7 pin flat socket to the plastic panel, on the left hand side of where the towbar goose neck runs. My towbar doesn't come through the bumper bar, It is a flat gooseneck and it runs under the rear bumper, so the flat plug is protected by the goosneck..

You can get the flat harness for the trailer. It sits in the boot and when you use a trailer it hangs out the boot lid. Flat harness allows the boot lid to hold it and doesn’t get squashed.

I’m at least partly absolutely sure it might have been a Holden factory option.

Yea you can, but they do over time place pressure on the bumper and it'll crack the paint.

Thats exactly why l wasn't going to route it that way.

I'm going to make an extension lead. It will plug into under the bar.

How long have you owned this car for? How much power is it making? Does it drive better with a 6 Speed?
