I always change the filter

This will start a stir, I leave my Mitsubishi filters on, I change every second oil change, 5000k intervals.
On my BA falcon I used to own I used to do it every second service, 10,000k intervals.
On my VS ute 304 I use the small filter so do it every change at 5000, but if I use the big filter I would leave it every second service.

VE SV6 II Wagon
Just did an oil change in my car, drained the oil out, filled up 6.7 Litres (what the manual says). Now the dipstick is reading higher but I’m not 100% sure how much as it is difficult to read.
Should I be concerned?
fixed the overfilled oil, only 700ml over filled, all is good now, thanks for your help guys!

700ml is a lot more than 200mls. Assumed you must have drained some? Not sure how you managed that if you only put in 6.7L? I would have thought the sump would not store 600mls worth after a drain?

The biggest problem I find with people changing their own oil it they do not get the oil up to operating temperature and try to drain cold oil. Draining a car while it is cold will leave quite a bit in the engine and I have done it to prove it to people.
I always get car up to temp (20 - 30 minutes drive) and I drain while hot and on the VE with the drain plug on the side of the sump I jack the drivers side up to get all the oil out and mine always takes 6.6 - 6.7 litres to get to full mark.

On Alloytec, with the oil filter removed I also get some oil through the pick up in some crap effort to clear any debris off the pick up screen. Like back flushing it. No idea if it works. Makes me feel good though. Then I get a smidge of fresh oil through as well to push out the old oil and grot out.
