Welcome to Just Commodores, a site specifically designed for all people who share the same passion as yourself.
What's so frustrating about MAF vs MAFless is I can't find any legal /conclusive statement on whether MAFless breaches EPA, or roadworthiness in NSW. I hear mixed stories from people.
Steve from Oztrack (Sydney) tells me his local Holden dealer will even fit a DuSpeed OTR CAI on new cars, which is a pretty strong implication that it's roadworthy!
However, many people here have said in NSW that CAI are not roadworthy.
I can't find legislation to answer the question authoritatively. Very frustrating.
If my wife is driving the car, with kids in the back, and gets pulled over (for say RBT) I don't want her dealing with any issues about unlawfulness on the roadside. That'd be a disaster. I'd like to be sure before doing the mod.
Examples of minor (owner certified) modifications are:
␣ Engine changes where the capacity increase is less than 15% above the maximum size engine available for the vehicle (providing no major structural modifications are necessary and where noise and/or exhaust emission ADRs apply, all standard equipment such as carburettors, exhaust systems, exhaust gas recirculating valves, oxygen sensors and catalytic convertors relating to noise and emission control are retained and operate correctly).
