Hi all,
I need to replace my MYB 6 speed Auto in my VE Calais V.
I was told that you can't just replace the box as it will not work with the ECU unless programmed.
I was also told that you need to replace the valve body from your original box into the replacement box to get the ECU to work properly.
I know my MYB box is 0BRA code as I got underneath and took a photo of the tag.
Is it possible to get another 0BRA coded 6 speed auto and bolt it in and it will work?
Or do you need to get the VCM suite sortware and OB2 plug so you can program the replacement 0BRA coded box to work?

You should only need some sort of high end interface module to match your VIN to the new gear box.

A Tech2 device is what is used for this by the dealer.
Call Holden for a quote to have the gearbox reflashed to match your VIN.

Almost any workshop worth it's salt will also have these or a Snap On or similar interface device that pokes around in the system. ****, even wreckers will. They do these all the time using second hand parts.

if your doing this yourself, maybe look for a mobile mechanic with the equipment to do this for you.
