the amount of oil I catch in mine says otherwise!!
not pure oil and its whether this affects anything whatsoever longterm. certainly a great idea for boost or general peace of mind. EGR has some good qualities about it but not sure thats needed either

The oil in my catch can seems to be darker than the sump oil and has a special stink to it that makes me glad its out of my engine.

That's because it's also catching fuel vapour along with the oil vapour. Mine is also dark, watery like and funny smell too.

Just did an oil change today and the catch can was almost full.
Curious how many kms between your oil change and how often you ‘fang’ the car?

I really must install a catch can

I was naughty this time as I was testing a different oil brand so it was roughly 12000km from the last service but the engine is loving the Penrite full zinc oil and still running like a dream with no odd noises like it would with the other oil. It did have two "hard" trips going north where the supercharger got a real workout :) Gotta love SH16

I did hear a story that oily intakes can take the octane levels out of your combustion.
Not sure on its validity however...

something to think about , is a small amount of oil vapour in to your engine harmful long term,
as always the upper cylinder bores and intake valve guides run dry from the raw fuel washing away the thin oil film ,
maybe some oil vapour coming through the intake helps reduce upper bore and intake valve guide wear long term,
any one remember redrex , a small bottle of oil you added to every full tank of fuel, as a upper valve cylinder lubricant to stop engine wear .
makes you wonder
