second thoughts were: "gee, that building came down awefully fast"
third thoughts were: "that building came down way too fast"

thoughts from then on were of sadam hussein and france/germany talking about trading barrels of oil in euro's instead of US dollars, free-fall times of demolished buildings, the low temperature burn rate of kerosene (jet fuel) and how much money they made back on insurance.

once again, some high up people doing really inhamane things for a profit.

My daughter came racing down the hall telling us that New York had been bombed by aircraft and my first thought was "who the hell has military attack aircraft that can reach New York, except the Canadians?"

The incident was very sad, but I do believe that it's also sad how much of a "worldly" impact this had.

As many people that died in that incident die every single day to preventable causes such as malaria or starvation.

Sometimes it's a good exercise to put these things in comparison.

I think I saw the vision before I actually heard the story and it was surreal. And then watching as the buildings burned. Ultimately the actual collapse of the buildings was utterly beyond comprehension. After a few days I really got sick of seeing the planes flying into buildings. Of course the world changed dramatically after that.
I guess ten years on and I have seen enough docos and stories on the day itself to be a bit over dredging it all up again. We still have the consequences to deal with anyway.
