I haven`t reached 15,000 yet.Was serviced at dealer before buying, but I thought their offer of $195 was a bit rich, went to a couple of other dealers and they wanted $290-$350.

Got myself
Wesfil oil filter $6
Castrol oil $60 (2 bottles)
K&N air filter $90 (Ebay :) )
Wesfil air con filter $??? yet to buy

Labour free do it myself (allowing 2hrs to check everything out) but the 120,000 will be a holden service for change of plugs from what I read. Not keen to do all that.

do it yourself and you're effectively voiding your warranty if you're not MTA authorised mechanic ?!

not worth risking it !

Hey Xonar, awesome first post in this thread... but 4 extra posts off topic have pretty much completely tanked the point of thread dude.

Its worth it for me mate.Car is over 3years and 100,000k`s and the dealer warranty they gave me when I bought it aint worth sh*t.They wouldn`t even help with the replace ment of my seat crack issue.Lucky I saw this forum and went to Holden at maitland and they fixed me up with-in 2 days

It pays to ring around boys & girls, My SV6 SIDI Is due for its 15,000km Service. Straight logbook service nothing else is wrong with the car.

I just rang 3 dealers and my local panel beater / Service centre

Doncaster Holden - $ 309.70

Garry Warren Smith - $ 312.00

Barloworld - $330 - Negotiable.

Local Service Mechanic - $ 200

I then ran back Barloworld and had a lovely chat with the service manager Michael, he outlined to me he cannot match the Local Mechanics price of $200,

the best he was offering me was $225 if i book it in today. So i did. :) Top Bloke

We Bought it Feb last year with 20000 ks and 3 year extended warranty to be serviced every 6 months or 10000 ks
Been serviced twice at $280 a pop and still under 30000 ks and that included a round trip to Kalgoolie (1500ks)
So i guess it's going to be serviced around every 4000ks before the warranty expires and i'll be doing it myself. :spew:'n on the warranty but the Mrs insisted.
Being an ex mechanic and listening to a dealer dribble **** to get more money out you pisses me right off :butt:

I recently paid $about 298 for the 30,000km service of my 08 VE sportswagon at the local dealership. Simple service, no extras required.
