Well before then.and forget it the next day
I think trans are quite fussy about oil levels and from experience regular oil changes in trans definitely prolongs live I have a hq with a turbo 350 making over 500 eng hp and same torque it had a basic shift kit I drag raced that for 10 years with lots of street miles and a 3000 converter before getting it checked out by my trans guy and yes it needed work but pretty happy with it considering everyone told me a 350 was to light for my car I put it down to lots of oil changesNa, i've had work done at this shop over many years and they have always done good work.
Im gunna put this down to one employee who did not do the correct thing.
Easy as that really .
Tomorrow will be the money shot when i start it up cold, it better have zero noise or it's back to the shop.
I'll post again just to confirm it was a low fluid issue.
I'm surprised that 1.2 litres short of oil would make a difference actually. Does not seem like a lot to me but I'm no Auto transmission expert.
Normally its just called flushing the transmission,if you change the oil enough times you can get all the oil clean,i used to service my eb v8 trans that regularly the trans oil was always cherry red.Transmissions are more sensitive to oil level than engines.
Interesting you say the torque converter needed flushing. I always thought that transmission fluid circulates through the entire transmission over and over. So through the valve body, torque converter and everything thing else. So by dropping to the pan and adding new fluid fairly regularly the fluid makes its way through the whole transmission and you didn't have to service the torque converter separately. Can anyone confirm?
