It’s available now, I have one, technically top-notch and king of the heap. I bought through Amazon on Black Friday (eight months ago). The software comes with it as bundle and that is about to be officially released. But you can buy dongle and use with other free software or DashCommand or OBD Fusion.

Ebay ELM327. I got one for $15 shipped from Sydney. Comes with the Torque app on a mini cd. Works perfectly.

Yes they all do that indirectly through freeware software. If you are wanting it just for that then yeah you can get a Chinese dongle from $2.99 from eBay NZ.
My thinking is that when you spend $40k+ for a car and less than a cup of rice for the reporting and diagnostic device, is false economy, and not really taking advantage / control of some advanced driver information functions on offer.

I just want to be able to see and clear/troubleshoot codes when they come up. The ELM looks good and at 65$ isnt too hard on the wallet either.

When you first posted about the 'Kiwi' i was thinking it was from NZ and I was sorted... lol
