I bought it because it was great value for money, looked the business and goes like a bat out of hell. I am looking at selling it because it is expensive to run (I do mainly city driving), too big for my needs and harder to park in multi-storey car park spaces.

So why did you buy your VE SS and why do you continue to love it?

MY09 VE SS Sportswagon
We wanted to buy a wagon to lug around all the stuff relating to two kids, plus the wife said that she would only drive a wagon if it was manual :) So we got a SS Sportwagon :yeah:

2007 VE SS-V
Well (dare I say it) I used to be a Ford Supporter till I drove the VE... really only because my first car was a 2.0L Escort...and I had to pick a side. I have a mate who works at Holden who sometimes got me free tickets to the V8's at Pukekohe...so I'd be the only one wearing blue in the Holden stand. Ford fans are staunch..and a bit stupid you know. Anyway so a few months ago we decided it was time to upgrade the ole car....I drove a bunch of cars....Honda Accord Euro, Mitsi 380 thing, XR6 and even a 6 cylinder VZ. I quite liked the Honda Euro...but my wife hated it...she asked the salesman if the H on the front stood for Horrendous!

Then we drove the VE SS-V and simply fell in love with it. It was twice the price of what I wanted to spend....but I dont care!!

I love the engine, the space, the style, the LSD, the way it sits at 1500rpm at 100Km/h, the way things disappear in the rear vision mirror.....best of all I like the badge on the side... 6.0 Litre.....pretty much says it all...Feck off Noddy..read the badge!

To be honest though...Ive never been to the gas station so often....but I dont care!

I still struggle with the window controls being in the center and the boot release in the glove box...but I'll get over it.

Well done Holden!! Looking forward to watching those Fords get creamed at Bathhurst today!! :)

2006 VE SS
i bought an Omega V-Series a few years back because i couldn't afford an SS. After a while, and still dreaming of an SS i started looking at them.... found one in very good condition in Sydney, got a great trade price for the omega and done the deal :D I think they are the sexiest looking vehicle on the road.... love the way it handles..... love the performance.
I am also impressed at the amount of fuel it uses if you drive it sensibly.
And......... with a CAI and slight exhaust mods when you give it a boot full it IS stiffy inducing :yeah:

I have a SV6, however I now regret not getting the SS. There's nothing quite like a V8! As people have stated, the fuel consumption between the V6 and V8 is minimal if both are driven sedately. If I had an SS, I would tickle the throttle. Knowing that you have a V8 means you dont have to prove anything, but the power is there if you want it (and it sounds and feels awesome!)

VF2 SS, VE SS ute 360rwkws daily VE LPG
I'm on my second VE SS, first was a sedan for $43000 driveaway and currently 10/08 SS ute for $33990 driveaway at those prices its hard to say no:bang:

Bought a VY SV8 as a daily and while it's nice the ride and feel of VE is light years ahead, MY VE on 20's rides better than Vy on 18's(both lowered with kings and GT shocks) also the low down torque of the 6L kills the 5.7L.

Negatives they are fat so use more juice and A pilliar is big(get used to it)

The minimum effort it takes to get to the speed limit, the stock sound of it (while not the loudest or best) is quite nice for standard, and the feeling of being launched back into your seat when you sink the boot ;)

It's hard not to love all that torque on tap. And yes it is a beautifully styled GT.

The runouts earlier in the year and the continuing hiigh pulp prices are seemingly detering buyers from V8s. The same SSs on carsales.com.au have been there for months. I, like other owners, value our cars much higher than the market does and am reluctant to let it go for less. That being the case I think I'll keep it and love it to death!
