Does anyone know if the VF has an actual oil temp sensor?

My Ngauge has 2 oil temp PIDS, “estimated oil temp”, and “oil temp from sensor” They both read differently.

But my mate, who used to work in the Holden service department for a long time, is adamant there is no sensor, and that it’s an estimate made up of coolant temp, oil pressure, engine load, run time ect.

But he can’t explain how after I added an oil cooler my oil temp has decreased, even though ECU has no way of knowing I added cooler?

Torque Pro has them, just add the generic PIDs for GM, Pontiac, Vauxhall and Opel.
