I think it looks way better with the infills

I think it looks more OEM with, and cheap mod without

I'm not a fan of them at all. I think there's a bit more visual impact of the OTR intake feeding the engine without them. IMO engine bays weren't meant to be filled in with plastic. Plastic intake, although it looks the goods, is cheap feeling and bad enough, turtle shell is even worse and long gone. Infills are only around $100 to add at a later date if your on the fence.

Sometimes you really need some plastic to hide the ugly

Can anyone tell me if this is a normal sounding cold LS3 or not? So many mixed comments on the videos and in a discussion on Facebook. Mine sounds exactly the same as this for the first 10 minutes of driving, even when I warm my car up for 10 minutes before I actually start driving. Lots of people saying theirs sounds the same and then others have said (like the poster of the video) their engine was stuffed.

Fark I would be gutted if my L77 sounded like that. So we might have another one with issues. Post some of your own various clips for us to have a listen to.

Will get some clips maybe later this arvo or tomorrow. Here's one interesting comment on that Youtube video:

They are saying it is just noise that valvetrain makes until engine oil reaches operating temperature. Due to alloy block and heads this resonates more than steel block. I discussed this at lenght at just commodores forum. Fairly common... "

That's Holdens way of saying we can't afford this s**t to be happening right now. Alloy probably does resonate more noise but the fact is, if its normal, does that mean everyone who doesn't have such noise has the fault? The f**kers can't have it both ways.

That’s how my L77 sounded when it was cold, I’m now having it rebuilt , good luck
