Why is it when I actually need a part...I never look on ebay. Probably the whole...delayed gratification thing...waiting on the postie... Good find tho.

Only took a few days to get to them :) Now I get an extra 100k's out of the tank....

Where are you getting "18" from?

Read the first post the economy varies between 18L to 21L per 100km see cut and paste below.
I assumed 18L per 100km is the best he achieves and worked with that as an example.

"hi guys,
i have a vs 99 v6 ute which has a **** fuel economy...18-21L/100km overall i only get 250-300 km out of 1 tank with premium fuel...."

vs ute
18/ 100km = 15.6mpg

I used to do short trips less than 5km and got 20mpg.

I would have expected that you get about the same.

As you are using 30% more fuel than myself I suggest look at the fuel quality.

What fuel are you using ?
Where do you buy it ?
Does the petrol station have high turn over ?

I am thinking is it diluted by mixing with other (stuff) ?

Also another question is the ute fully loaded all the time ?

i get my fuel from woolworths servo
i get the e91 fuel with ethonal

ethanol based fuels use alot more than normal fuel to burn the same. Try 95 or 98 ron.

As The1 said e10 burns quicker, it's pretty poxy petrol. As another test, fill up with 95 or 98 and seriously, do not exceed the speed limit! Combined with the previous advice of not exceeding 2500rpm you will see if it's a lead foot or the car.
I can get anywhere from 350 - 550k's from a tank, depending how I drive.

I suggest run the fuel tank until the fuel warning light comes on and then refill to the first click.

Fill up at a high turnover petrol station with same fuel each week, preferably at the same pump.

It will take a couple of tankfuls to reset the ECU.

The 3rd week should give the more accurate reading.

As your are in NSW I would use the fuel brand produced from your local refiner over there.
(In WA BP is the local refiner and usually gives the best performance)
