Car had mafless tune in 2008.

So, drove 45mins home from work parked car. 20 seconds later tried to restart. No crank just a click.

I can get it to crank via the key sometimes after turning multiple times it will fire but stop after 2 seconds.

Tried 2x keys both lock/unlock car.
Red padlock light dash goes out.

Tried the start relay bypass trick same happens starts then stops.
This way I can keep cranking it will crank forever.

Has ample fuel pressure.

Looking at scanner data shows injectors pulsing but only when cranking.

Scanned the car for codes.
ECU no codes
Pim no codes
BCM DTC 17
17Not Okay to Start, Received From PCM - Current

I’ve removed the starter and crank sensor both seem ok.

Next thing to try is having VATS disabled.

Super stress and anxious about this.

Is the red lock flashing on the dash after the key is inserted and turned?

I’d be having it towed back to the tuner.

Try not to stress. Focus on the now. Focus on facts, not maybes or what ifs.

Sounds like you may have a slip ring problem. Make sure the key head is contacting the slip ring. You may need to (gently) lever up the slip ring.

Could be something and cheap as the ignition switch on the back of the barrel. Easy fix.

Key turns no problem. Just doesn’t alway crank and when it does you can see what happens

That’s not what I’m saying.

On the back of the barrel is the actual switch. Watching you turn the key there made me think of it.

The switch doesn’t jam up. The barrel does. Your barrel is fine. That thread has replacing the switch as well.
