Been working on the tune some more, sorting out the tune to suit cold air when cruising/warm up cycle. The factory L67 used an IAT sensor in the airbox but this is really useless on a blown engine. We moved and changed the sensor to a MAT sensor in the LIM but I've had to build a whole new Spark Correction for Intake Air Temps table. Long slow process slowly adding in timing and seeing how it behaves but I'm finally starting to see some good results

Took off throttle body.
Put loctite on the throttle body butterfly screws.
Put everything back together.

We did plugs on the boys beemer this arvo. Running a bit **** and sucking down the very expensive petrol we now consume :(

These things run the fancy laser cut platinum NGK type plugs, good for 100,000km. This car has about 180K on it. What are the chances these are the OG plugs? Plugs have BMW on the porcelain with the NGK R logo.

Check out these fucked plugs....

And a new plug for comparison

I also like the COP design. Coils are securely mounted with 2 bolts the COP end is spring loaded onto the end of the plug. Good contact and it's not going anywhere. Very robust electrical plug design too.

Mr 22 said it runs better, certainly didn't have that rich petrol smell on cold start. I think we'll call that a win.

Washed borh the car and bike

I had some Carbuilders underbonnet cut offs from doing a few cars previously so chop fitted it in

Looks good enough with the bonnet and boot closed, still has a few chalk marks on it, but thar won't last long

Will it do anything, the liner under the bonnet will from previous experience, quite a bit really, but I only did inside the boot lid "just because I done the bonnet"

Going for a nice long cruise tomorrow, somewhere down the south coast with the "Minister for war and finances", it will be good

How did you get the ridge pattern pretty much even on every section? Do the pieces come premade to size and just trim them a few mm to fit perfect?

So......yeap.......tried installing the heat sleeves.......yeap.......nope

Even after pulling off the coils and leads there was no way in hell that I could fit them over the pipes

I tried from the top, I tried from the bottom, sometimes things don't work out the way I want them to

In other, less rage related news, my Harley now has thermal sleeves under the Vance and Hines Short Shot heat guards

LOL
