i wouldnt touch it, i only drink spring water that we collect in 40 litre drums from outside Ballarat. Tap water is bad enough in taste, couldnt imagine what recycled would be like.

u do know that they cant filter everything out of the water. eg the chemicles from the pill cannot be filtered out. btw overseas recycle water but they dont drink it they use it as grey water and use clean water to drink........ something to think about ehh

No. They can't really know that that water is one hundred percent clean and good as the water that fell as rain.

But, they could always recycle water to a point, and then put it in the soil, give it a few years, and it'll clean up good through NATURAL process. Something liek that.

I thought "WHy don't they get some ice from antarctica!?, Best stuff there is" but apparently that will cost too much.

THe only process I wil be entirely content with is a natural one. :)

I don't mind if they use recycled water for watering plants/maintaining parks and woodlands, industry, manufacturing and other such things. However people should drink water which is either from the sky (rain water), bore water (from subterranean aquifers) or desalinated water.

@ Abba, if they could use the Northern wet season to harness both power generation and piping the water, then it wouldn't be wasted I agree. If we cannot undertake such a daring program now with such economic prosperity and low unemployment, then when are we ever going to be able to do it. I reckon if C. Y O'Conner could get water from Perth to Kalgoorlie in the beginnings of last century, we can do this now, easily...

Look at it another way, when it rains all the crap from the roads, footpaths, gutters, gardens, etc. gets washed into the rivers, which is where most city's water comes from.

So really unless the water falls from the sky, directly into your cup it is not going to be 100% pure, and even then, it falls through the pollutants in the air, so even rain water is not 100% pure.

I think it all boils down to the thought of it. If you where blind and given a glass of recycled water and then given a glass of water from bore / river / tank you probably wouldn't be able to taste the difference.
