How longs it been since you had it serviced last? Id get your transmission services and a new filter put it, maybe even a flush if it's been a while and see if that helps. Allot of times a service is all it needs.

Don't sit n your car to warm it up, and engine, gearbox and diff warm up fastest whilst driving. Just take it easy until the cars warmed up. Don't worry about warming your car up before driving unless you drive a rotary.

That's a good point you've brought up.

I think if they used a tiny little diesel generator would be the go, they could get say a 1000cc diesel generator, maybe even a turbo one and it would run on the smell of an oily rag just to recharge the battery pack.

There's allot more parts to break besides the motor. But I have been told and heard that the VT's aren't refined enough and had allot of problems. Probably because they were the first of the model and Holden had yet to sort out problems with the series 2 up to vx ect I guess.

Stay away from series 1 VT's, I've heard there rather un reliable. I'd try and stretch your budget for a ls1 vx.
