The lovely law enforcement have stopped p-platers driving V8s a while back now, same as all cars that make over 130kw/tonne I think.

It most places they cant enhance the engine power either. So its really just as illegal.

Any HWY Patrol that isnt brain dead will be able to spot a cammed Commodore a mile away.

You must be happy with the end result danthuyer. I would be.

killabob - its on the Facebook page
SVS Auto and Dyno - Cams and tune $3600. To get this result you'll need a decent exhaust and an Orssom OTR INTAKE.

Good result for the cost, I just wonder if fuel consumption suffers a lot with these cams...

Even an exhaust is illegal for a P plater in Victoria.

I'm amazed Victoria haven't just banned all drivers - pricks that they are.

It's probably not as noticeable as a cammed V8, the V6's use a quad cams with variable cam timing so at idle they should sound very docile if tuned right.

Regardless, any mods are illegal as you mentioned.

And, sometimes I wonder about cops, i've come across more than a few who really don't understand cars and modifications. They don't have to, the way the law works is they ticket you and you have to prove your mods are legal at your cost. System is designed to revenue gather. Truth and what's right/wrong doesn't really seem to matter.

BTW I am no Dyno queen ...far from it

Yes there will be a new time slip soon ........ the car had only completed its initial power and road tune on Friday so be patient

The clutch is currently getting upgraded as the factory one snaps open above 7000RPM and stays there :(

Peak power now produced at more than 1000rpm higher than stock, seems about right.

That said with such a high increase in engine speed to produce such high peak power the gain in bottom-mid range torque would be pretty minor, making it not very useable everyday. But I haven't driven the car or tuned it or dynod it so that's all theoretical.

After all, Power (kW) = Torque (N.m) x Speed (RPM) / 9.5488.
