Master window controller 150K
Alternator (not required) 150K
All brakes 170K

Part of me wants to buy a radiator as it's the only thing that hasn't broken yet that went on my last commodore.
Going to flush coolant and change all the drive belts soon

Great info. I was under the impression all VE V8's had LSD's?

VE SS ute 360rwkw N/A, 2016 VF2 SS M6
I've had 5 ve's over the years

06 SS manual bought new, cammed etc sold with 33K, HVAC radio would blank out every now and then otherwise fine

08 SS ute(still have) bought new cammed etc currently has 36K on the clock no issues

09 SS afm auto bought with 10k on clock sold with 82K noisy lifters but ran fine, Hvac actuator went at 60K

08 Berlina dual fuel bought at 62K written off at 122K(rear ended at 80k/h) one LPG relay changed otherwise fine.

09 Berlina dual fuel bought at 65K currently 151K brakes(front discs) at 65K, one 02 sensor at 110k replaced all shocks at 145K(lowered with fe2 springs aswell) and strut top bushes just replaced rear brakes

All above serviced 5000>7500kms no oil burning or rattley timing chains etc

273,000km bought new, 100k warranty plus fell for stoopid 'extended warranty' to five years / 170k km.
Apart from scheduled items in the Owners Manual, same story as other Series II owners - mechanical and body.
Driveshaft doughnut bolt 40k - WTY
Door actuator switch (driver) 60k - WTY
Window actuator switch (pass rear) 80k - WTY
Door actuator switch (driver) 105k
1 x Set of discs 150k
1 x Radiator Cap 160k
4 x Struts and springs 170k
4 x Wheel bearings 170k
GM warrant this car for 100k miles (160k km) in the US, which is an important milestone to note in this thread. Apart from two elastomer harmonic balancers going pear shaped and service recalls the main issue has been wear at the cam face through inadequate lubrication.
-- engine out overhaul 175k -- well out of AU warranty, cam and lifter rollers wear was evident. So complete tear down and rebuild like Steve Austin: better, stronger, faster.
Among other things, upgraded stock disposable harmonic balancer to Fluidampr.
Near six years now and only pending issue is rear door struts are losing their mojo (getting a bit soft), takes longer to extend. Happens with age, years of abuse... so I'm told

Tell me more

remove coil packs & rocker cover

remove rocker and conrod for noisy lifter cylinder

clean out conrod with good quality TB/Carb cleaner

reinsert conrod, and spray TB/Carb cleaner down the rod and onto the lifter hat

put everything back together

add new oil and filter, run engine flush through the motor for 12 minutes.

replace oil and filter again after motor flush

Noise gone
