Just been reading in Googles + links on Google that bring me here at JC and the VF Series (VE ok) the VF Series DO NOT HAVE A Engineering mode AT ALL so you can check the auto temp. Can someone conform this?

That’s correct @VFSV6FORME, I’ve looked for such but haven’t found any VE style engineering mode for the VF Commodores. Instead you can use an OBD2 dongle and an app on your phone to display various parameters including trans oil temp (if you have the gm pids). See this thread ;)

I found something better. I got my notebook out where is I use to used it for my Vf v6 Storm and for the first time I used ELM Street with the 327 cable on the WN Caprice V 6.0 Ltr and presto it works correctly on the Engine and Transmission. I originally PM,d Tazzi for this months ago but he did not reply my pm so now I find out it works!!!. YEAH.
Yes I selected the options in the transmission, I selected options like RPM, Engine Coolant, and Transmission Temperature so after starting the car the Engine temp went up, and slowly the Transmission temp went from ambient to 50 Deg C then I turned the car off.
Tomorrow I'm going to ring 2 Holden Dealers to find out how much they charge and also I will ring up a 2 known auto service mob to see how they $charge$, what oil they use, and how they measure the top up on 40-50 Deg C.
This should be interesting.

Yep most bluetooth OBD readers work just fine.
My word of advice having done this myself recently. Check the level as soon as you hit 30deg. It takes ages from completely cold to get to 30, but to get from 30 to 50 is a lot quicker!

You right about that, to get from stone motherless cold to around 30 deg took about 10-15minute or more, to get from 30 to 50 deg it took about 5 minutes to get to 50 c.
Today I will do at test but this time I will write down the start time at COLD to when it gets to 30 deg and then the time from 30 Deg C to 50 C. This will be interesting for all to know.

Right!

I started the car at ambient temperature @ 24 Deg C and the auto was @ 23 Deg C (yes 1 deg Cooler) @ 11:41 AM and it reached 30 Deg AM at 11:51 AM so to get to 30 Deg C to 50 Deg C it took further 9 Minute more to get it to 50 Deg C. All finished in Noon Midday. The Next test I will do is see how long @ Noon midday will take it get to 50 deg C after I leave the car still for 2 hours then start the car again to see what temp the gearbox is and see how long before it goes to 50 deg C .
By the way I recorded the session on my notebook.

Now this is the second RIGHT topic for today.
Rang Holden Dealers about servicing the Auto

Now I rang Holden 2 Dealers today and I got a Quote to service the auto on the WN 2013 MY14 Caprice V with a 6.0 Ltr Engine in it and the Dealer said : : one said $395 and the other Said $410. Hummm Expensive!!. Now I asked do you Flush the System out for that money and both said NO just remove the pan, change filter and that's it.

Rang 3 other businesses today
I Rang 3 different place that I know that they service Auto and I told them Do you used AC Delco Dexron 6 for our Caprice V and the 3 of them said NO " they use Synthetic oil, Hummm that ok only if you remove all the older oil, after this Asked how do you measure the Temp of the auto Gearbox to finalize the total capacity that is Needed and two of them said, Well we go into special mode of your dash and it tells me what the temp is. Hummmm WHAT On a WN Caprice V or beter still the WN is a Copy of the VF Commodore . Yes We will wait until the require temperture then we check the oil by adding or remove oil from the overflow. Once agail Hummmm AFAIK ther is NO ENGINEERING Mode or any other way to check the temp on the Gearbox on the dash.
Now two of the three gave me Porkies and after going on 3 sites Via Google like I said before there is NO ENGINEERING MODE ON ANY VF or WN (Ok for the VE series) cars for F.cuk sake so why are people lying to me, WHY Only there third person said to me "WE use a device that plug into you car (Should had Said OBD2 but most dont know this) we connect to you car and the device tells us the the oil temperture. Argghjghddft Fuk I hate $$$$$lairs$$$$$..

I started the WN Caprice again @ 2.00PM two houirs after turning the car off and I found at 2.00PM the Gearbox being a 6L80E was at the temp @ 46 Deg C and it took only 5 minutes to get up to 50 Deg C

Wow it doesn't cool down much in 2 hours! Are you going to do the transmission service yourself or pay one of the rip-off merchants?
In my experience, so called transmission specialists are the biggest rip off of all the auto trades I've used. I had one tell me they did a full service when I knew they didn't even take the pan off.
