You must be shattered you don't have irs so I can't sell it to you haha.

bit of money to spend, but well worth while.

Yeah I'm sick of it being so rooted. Will be a relief to have it back to working order lol.

The t5 is out ready to install my new clutch kit. Thanks god they're nice and light. Had the back of it kinda fall on my arm. Didn't hurt too bad, not like an auto lol.

Mate you powered through that!
I guess once you've done it before, you are quicker at it!

What's your technique for pulling the boxes out?

Do you take the selector stub off to remove the box? I never thought of that when i did mine and as a result it was a massive pain in the ass.

Quick question do you have much play in your input shaft?

Make sure you take out the top bolts before you put it on stands. It's easier to get them from the top. Even the second one down on the passanger side I do from the top. then I just take everything off that's needed. Tailshaft, wires, exhaust y piece, shifter and that bracket thing. The y piece can be a bit of a pain. Once you've done it all a few times you get quicker. Then once it's almost ready to drop I get the old man to put the jack up hard against it just slightly towards the rear (where all the gears are, and most of the weight is) and undo that bracket at the back and a loose handtight bolt or 2 that I leave in the bellhousing. Then try and balance it with my hands while dad slowly lets it down. Then I have to hold up the front of the box while dad slides out the jack and then I can slide out the gearbox. The top of the stands isn't high enough to fit the box and the jack lol. Will be great in a few months when we have a hoist and gearbox stand! Haha

Yeah it's a pain to try and take the box out with the shifter on. I tried to get one out with the shifter on once and it just didn't work for me haha. Even tried to put it in third to see if that would give me enough to slide out the shaft. Didn't work lol. I just take out the shifter from the top now before I take out the box.

I don't think my input shaft has much play. I'll give it a turn by hand tomorrow and let you know.
