Never ever had a problem with >70% ethanol in our car and I've used 2/3 of a petrol tanker of the stuff driving around in scorching dry heat, muddy tropics, and frozen alpine regions over the past three years. Has saved me more than $11,200 in petrol and about half the carbon footprint.
Never had Caltex Flex fuel score > 70%, only use it for points on the missus' Myer Card.
United will get you up to 85% and down as low as $1.03 - simply the best fuel for our car.

My experience tuning L77 in an auto to above 95% Volumetric Efficiency (whilst retaining AFM fuel economy and low cabin noise) cost me around $8500 and went like this:

New stock 2010-build L77 @85% VE ~ 218rwkw

-------- Bolt-ons --------
+ catback no tune @85.3% ~ 222
+ OTR and MAFless tune @92.5% ~ 247
+ HSV headers @94% ~ 253
+ air dam @95% ~ 255
+ retune e85 & opened cats @97.3% ~ 268

----------- 0.525" Lift ---------
+ rockers, rods & high rpm valvetrain @89.6% ~ 280
+ mandrel pre-cat & 100cpsi steel hi-flow @91.5% ~ 288
+ custom manifold & ported TB @95.8% ~ 303

...............Lowest...Low......Average..Best
Peak kW ..293.4.....299.6...303.4.....307.2
Peak Nm ..515.0.....528.6...535.3.....542.1

Stock fuel pump was checked to be ok. Car was designed for e85. Are u thinking the increase of power the stock fuel pump is not up to the job?

Yes ... ive been informed that if your running E85 you need a E85 compatible PUMP ... Also when that kind of power the fuel pump would of been 1 of my first things to upgrade ....

So your peak 307kw at the wheels. That's a great result! , I think if I went mafless and an u driven kit I would be near that figure..

So we are on the same page here, the fuel pump is e85 compatible it's a e85 flex car from factory?

Also goes fine flat out, just shakes and idles poorly and has flat spots on the recent e85 from caltex.
If it was the fuel pump of suspect it would run poorly on 98 premium

will need to upgrade to a internal walbro at minimum .. has to be E85 rated aswell

if he has run E85 through the stock pump then put 98 in it then the damage has already been done.. it stuffs the pumps

Mine came out with an e85, 98, 95 and 91 Ron compatible pump. All. Series 2 onwards ssv redlines are compatible. I didn't just have a car which ran 98 from factory then put flex in and tuned it.. Not sure if where meaning the same thing here?
