the eyes have good oxygenation so metal filings rust really quickly and makes for the doc having to dig a bigger hole to get all the crap out

Yeah. I was grinding something in 1968 and ended up with steel in eye.

Ignored it for a day or so but finally off to doc. Told me it had rusted and I can still feel him picking the bits out :(

Had cataract surgery earlier this year and they showed me a pic of my eye with old scars easily seen.

The pads are here.
Fronts come with shims...

I did a quick search about the arrows on the shims:

"The arrows on the anti-noise shim of Brembo brake pads indicate the disc rotational direction, which means they should be taken into account when fitting the pads inside the caliper body. You need to make sure the arrow is pointing in exactly the same direction in which the wheels revolve when the vehicle is in motion."
