Here another question but this time on the Trans 6L80E
Although I havent had the 6L80E pan off, I'm assuming its similar to the 5L40E pan, having just replaced the pan in last few days

Therefore plan is to upgrade trans sump to deepened alloy pan to get another 1.5 litre of trans fluid in there
How would you hold the magnets into the alloy pan, working on the bases it's not magnetic
Would I have to epoxy magnets against inside
Im assumning there is plenty of room now in pan and could use a few more magnets to help tidy up inside if there was a fair amount of shavings floating around

Just thinking ahead

I think there is a magnet in it. Going by what this.

Stick a strong magnet to the outside of the pan and that way you don't spend all your driving time wondering if this is the day it's going to let go.

actually ordered the 6L80E pan on Saturday night after finishing the L540E filter/ATF change
So dont know,
I think would want a few more magnets in there than the sump plug by what the chatter is regarding these trans
That pan looks a little different on profile

I ordered the standard V8 filter when I ordered the 5L40 filter from Outlaw in Adelaide
Then this larger pan was after thought
asked the guy what filter it takes no answer over weekend

Perhaps need to change the ATF twise in VF/V8 if its a little dirty inside

lets see what response is tomorrow

My last 2 comments have been about the 6L80.
You have ordered the deep pan, so will need the wide mouth. Also deeper, pick up closer to bottom of pan once fitted.
