Well this turned out to be a larger issue than i expected 
After what was started in the OP the car failed to start in the evening. Guy jump started the car but on the way home the battery light came on again. In the morning the system did not even have enough power to open the doors.
When we tried to jump it again it was getting enough to turn over but would not. After trying to get it going to 2 hours (even using a heavy duty jump battery) i got it towed.
After much investigation the found the Alternator was over charging and fried the fuel pump. After replacing both the system still has a minor issue. 1 in 10 starts the engin managment light and ABS come on. Diagnostics comes back saying "requested tourque tourque is out of range" tho at idol tourque is 11nm under acceleration in nutural it is 272nm (approx) with a max setting of 500nm.
Mechanic is still looking into why this is happening.
As you can see it has spent 2 days under testing. Hope this helps someone in the future
