What oil is everyone using

Yep unleaded is 1.48 a litre. 95 which is what I use is 1.65 a litre and 1.72 at Shell and our fuel doesnt cycle its expensive all year round.

Are you towing a caravan or is petrol $2 a litre down there?

3 years ago we were paying 1.15 a litre for gas, now we pay 98cpl. At its worst i have seen unleaded hit 1.75 a litre.

Not towing very often. If i pull the trailer you add 10 bucks for a round trip. I found the ute pretty ecomical. Might have to see if i can improve on those figures.

I reckon my VE would achieve below $30. Is it flat or are you going through mountains.

2008 Astra is about $30. Hard to say what a VE would get. It a 260m climb from work to home. Fairly hilly in spots. I will start a thread and get some ideas to get some improvement on economy. For starters i will be fitting the tarp back on the tray. I just found out having it off reduces economy.

How many litres per 100 are you getting Greenacc? I get about 13 which i should be able to improve on if i make some changes.

I might have worked it out wrong but give you could do it for 30 bucks thats less than 9L per 100. That's a huge improvement over my VR.

I thought VEs got around 11L per 100 thats around 33 bucks a round trip. I assume that wouldn't be hills included.

Is anyone using engine oil flush when they are changing oil ? I used to but not sure if I should continue with this new car..

Yep. Used LiquiMoly engine flush for 160,000km from 40,000kms on a V6 engined car that I’d owned from new. Done 200,000km now and going strong. Flush and oil change every 10,000km. Definitely recommend it.

I’ll be doing half interval oil changes on the LS3 and will flush at that time.
I’ll let the dealer do their thing at scheduled services and provide my own oil. Leaning towards Penrite Enviro.
