Was that update for the warning light or for the battery not holding charge? I've read that some of the earlier commodores didn't turn accessories off when the car was off and drained the battery. How much di the update cost you and how long did it take?

So just an update, I took the battery to an auto electrician this morning to test. He told me the battery is 100% not the issue and it's most likely the alternator.... Sent a message to the company on ebay and will see what they say.

So I bit the bullet the other night and bought a new alternator of eBay. $250 and 3 years warranty. Dealership wanted almost $700 for an OEM one. Threw it in this afternoon and all seems ok. No issues so far. Fingers crossed!!

I honestly couldn't tell you. I've had the car for 2 years and looking through the service receipts from previous owners (quite a few missing), I can't see where/if it was changed. It's a Delkor battery but there's no markings stating when it was fitted or when it was manufactured.

Hey thanks for the reply. I realised after I posted this that I hadn't put two plugs that are just in front of the brake booster. I guess they're the connections for the ABS module and a fuel level sensor. Either way, its running nicely now. Cheers for the help

Hey guys, I'm thinking of getting extractors and an otr for my SSV sometime in the next few months. Just curious as to whether you think I should do them both at once or do them separately. I know I'll need a tune after both but wondering if I can hit two birds with one stone and get it all...

The rattle is constant and sounds like glass in a blender. The sound is definitely coming from the transmission so I know it isn't the lifters. I had a look at the torque converter bolts today to make sure they weren't lose and they're fine. Now I'm out of ideas. Not sure what to check next...

I went to start my car this morning and I heard a loud rattle coming from under the engine. On the dash, i get 2 errors saying the 'ESP off' and 'Check Engine'. The rattle sounds like a lose nut of bolt but I can't find any. Does anyone have any idea what it would be?

Thanks for your insight. My average speed is around 26 km/hr. I've noticed that with this last tank of fuel, it seems to be lasting a lot better. Maybe a crappy tank of fuel that didn't burn efficiently??
