I have a S1 calias v and a 17 redline. Both have great points to them , I'd be pretty happy with a s1 Calais V 6.0 as balance of price , features and performance.

Amateur salesperson says is 2011 model which has the L77 not the L76, and goes on to say it is a 2014 VF model in the description.

Go the V6. Drove to Adelaide from Melbourne in the mid-summer heat with a/c on the whole way, a full boot and the whole family on board... it used 51 litres to do 760km.

They're a great engine. The only thing that annoys me is that it sounds like a sewing machine. Otherwise, it has better take off and is much smoother than my other car which has an LS1 V8.

And the poor breathing on the right hand side bank

They fixed that in the LFX engines which were first fitted to late VEII models... a long time ago.

I have a vf2 v series Calais 6.2 and couldn' be happier. Drove the v6 and it was chalk and cheese. If you can afford it, go the V8. It's not that bad on fuel either but most of my driving is highway.
