Welcome to Just Commodores, a site specifically designed for all people who share the same passion as yourself.
You don’t get it, fair enough. That video does not make a point for internal coating for performance, but for longevity. There are a million sites talking up the benefits of internal ceramic coating of headers.
Just the fact it hugely increases the life of the headers alone would be a good enough reason for me to get it done.
Which for a mild performance street car that I intend to keep is far more important to me than the possible lose or gain of a few of horsepower.

You don’t get it, fair enough. That video does not make a point for internal coating for performance, but for longevity.
Rationale is because pipes rust on the inside... Well not if you drive it properly, regularly!
Changing heat, density and velocity can be advantageous if you have a clue what you’re doing and are aware of the thermodynamics at play, but changing the tuned design of an off-the-shelf header can be disasterous.
But yeah, if you don’t care about energy efficiency thus performance and simply want to extend the life of your pose pipes because you don’t drive your car often, sure, dip the lot in a paint bath.
Seems the longevity of the pipe is more important than economy and performance to you and your family, weird. My car is a daily that constantly stops and starts due to many short haul trips with an occasional longer drive and an annual long run thrown in much the same as many other family vehicles out there living in the suburbs.
If driving it properly doesn’t allow me to do that then the car is useless to my family.
It’s for that reason I see a lot of sense in protecting my financial input into a set of headers.
If you are too pompous to see the rationale of that then no skin off my nose.
Along with longevity there’s a lot written about efficiency, scavenging, coefficients and thermodynamics for increased performance that favour the use of internal ceramic coatings for headers but as that doesn’t suit your opinion I guess it’s now time for you to carry on like a pork chop with some fancy calcs to bamboozle everyone into believing you are right and other studies are wrong.
I’ll take my chances and go with the alternative opinions and happily disregard you’re “my way is the only way” view on every subject.
Surely the point of us contributing (as in paying regular donations and offering regular honest unfettered advice) is not simply to engage in argument? Those commenters who simply contradict without the ability to back up an argument should receive an infraction!I believe each is entitled to their opinion. The forum is to discus merit of both opinions and you get to choose what you would like to do.
No skin off anyone's nose.
