Fuel smell in ve cabin

Hey just seeing if anyone knew what the fuel smell in my car could be. It only comes in when the car get fuel put in then it soon goes away after a few days.
Edit: the car needs timing chains replaced (typical ve lol) so I’m not sure if that could be related whatsoever

Hi mate, not a VE but I had a VY commodore that did this. It turned out to be the fuel cap.

Are you guys standing in a puddle of petrol every time you go to the servo? May be the answer

check inside the boot if the filler neck vent hose has come off

If it’s only happening when you fill the tank then it’s something to do with the fuel vapour control system. One of the vapour lines has come undone or perished, the fuel cap isnt sealing anymore or the charcoal canister and/or purge valve are cactus.

I used to often fill the tank to really full. After taking the whole lot apart and putting back together again, I will never do it again.
