Is there anyone that can recommend a "Decent" Automatic Transmission Service Centre on the Southern / South East Suburbs,
ie: Cheltenham, Moorabbin,
that doesn't have tweezers to pick-pocket the $$'s from your Wallet because they think your a idiot and you know FA about cars.
"One that is honest, and doesn't try to "Dazzle the Customer with Brilliance, or Baffle them with BS !!!
I am talking of a GOOD Automatic Transmission Service Centre, not A Ripoff as they can see you coming.

I message 1 in Dandenong on Wednesday and on Thursday, and he keeps avoiding the Cost/Prices when I asked,
Advertises a New one for $2,500, and they says the Supplier has doubled the Price overnight, YE RIGHT, like I said "See you coming"
And then he says, I will need a new Trans Computer, I asked for the cost of that, but again, avoid the cost of that,

I rang another yesterday in Seaford, and they started to spin a bit of a yarn, and gave me a price within my cost I have allowed,
I'm not talking a Repaired one for the cost of the faulty parts, or New one as a Cost of $5,500+,
I'm talking of a Full Reconditioned one,
It a great car, and I don't mind spending the $'s on it.

Your Feedback is welcome

I'm hearing ya mate, it's bloody hard to find places you can trust and who won't rip you off, it's ridiculous. What is the name of the place you contacted in Seaford ?

N & V Automatics,
They have a 5 star rating,
and good feedback,
I understand it’s difficult to quote a repair can be difficult, as they would not know what’s required to fix trans
But, I just wanted up front prices.
What I’m suspicious about, for the price I am willing to pay, will all the internals be replaced ?
I don’t want it to be “she’ll be right, we will just use this old part”, and by the time the warranty period, has expired, I’m up ship creek for another rebuild.
I am sure no one would want to go through that again.
Especially if you stuck out BFN.

I have the same transmission in my ss and when I had a problem with it earlier this year, I had the same issue as you, in not knowing who to trust, cause it's bloody amazing how many businesses that are around who just bullshit you and say you need parts that you really don't need and just totally rip people off. Anyway, I ended up having a couple of recommendations from people to go to GS&M AUTOMOTIVE in seford, and it's the best thing I could have done, and I will go back there for anything I need done to my car from now on......I finally found someone I can trust. They are automatic transmission specialists but also do all other mechanical work too. I found that the price to fix my transmission was a good price, he kept the old parts to show me and explained what the problem was, they did a really good job and they also noticed that I had a broken plug on the radiator, which I knew about and was going to get fixed another time, but they drilled out the old broken plug and fitted a brand new plug and didn't even charge me for it. The car was

Yep - this is the sort of service I got from a great auto transmission specialist on the Northern Beaches. Not cheap, but he upped some of the spec and the box felt more solid than a new one.
Even lent me a car for the trans rebuild period.
Naturally, I have used him for other work since.
Good to know that good opeartors still around, but shame you're not in my neck of the woods.

I would suggest going anywhere in Melbourne. Travelling an hour or two to get the job done right is worth it.
