But it should be a factory paint job.
It should, but it seems the way they did it it may’s well been the cheapest job you could get done down the local panel beater - not even removing or masking the plastic roof rails!!

The roof rails were painted by the supplier.

The photos that launched this thread don't look like that; it looks like they did what I thought they were doing, and took each finished car aside at the factory before delivering to the dealer & just hit the roof with some "Phantom" paint while simply masking stuff off & not removing anything ...

Roof was painted before any assembly was carried out. Jump to the 7:10 Mark in this video and you will see the black roof being applied and masking being removed afterwards

I wonder how much of that production equipment is still just sitting there unused.

I've heard paint shop is untouched while assembly line is now in india

Just got back from my tour of HVO at Elizabeth. If you order a car with black roof, it goes back into paint shop to get painted (not at HEC) The plastic strips are painted by a supplier.....

Roof was painted before any assembly was carried out. Jump to the 7:10 Mark in this video and you will see the black roof being applied and masking being removed afterwards

Wonder what @Super Coach got shown on his tour then.
