the low beams in my VX are really dim. the lamps themselves are clean and not yellowed so I know this isn't the cause.

first point of call is obviously I'll be getting some new globes and parkers. the car also has headlight protectors, would this effect the brightness of the lamps?

my brother seems to think it's because VT/VX lamps are just crap, he's got a VT calais and says his are crap too. if this is the case, what can I do to get more light output, besides installing hids. I want to keep it legal.

thanks.

thanks. I'll remove the headlight protectors and give the lamps a good clean along with some new globes and see how I go after that.

Phillips Extreme Vision (+100).
I paid like $50 and the difference was astonishing.

Also spend some time adjusting them correctly using the guide from Holden. It makes a bit of difference in itself.

Head light protectors are good in protecting the lamp assembly, but on the down side,
they don't allow enough air flow over the head light to keep it cool.

Over time, this allows the head light to heat up, which can dis colour the lens and
reduce the performance, effectiveness and longevity of the globe.

Being acrylic or perspex, they also get scratched.
This will effectively scatter the beam of the light,
therefore reducing the performance of the light out put.

My daughters VX has excellent head lights.
Original lamp assemblies and the globes are nothing special.

I'm thinking of removing my Altezza Projectors and replacing with factory.

To the OP.....May be adjusting them could be beneficial?

I'd be willing to bet eyes getting crap or alignment issue.

Park in front of a wall on the flat, take a piccy and report back with it.
