They told me most failures occur within 500k's, I'm not too worried about the Magnum...
Right up to 10k They can pop whenever they like.
I noticed, in 'normal' shift mode, it upshifts at 6200 RPM, where as the old Redline and Maloo was 5400 RPM.
What is the redline set at on the 304kw LS3's?
6700 RPM from memory.
I don't like giving bad news but I just heard the LSA is now involved in the recall as well.
I don't know any details on build dates etc but all I know is they have put a hold on the sale of new vehicles and owners will be getting the same letters we're seeing.
And mine has its one month free inspection in the morning. Say it isn't so!
^^ lols. so
Dealer confirmed, some LSAs as well. They have no idea which ones so the wait for a letter from Holden (or not) arrives.
Where are these bloody rocker arms aaarrgggh
Isn't that going the wrong way! Nooooooooooooooo.............
Depends what coast you are on.
Or which direction the camera is facing. That's a ship load of rockers.
I haven't even contacted my dealer yet. I reckon I'll go to the bottom of the queue seeing as I snubbed then and bought the MSE from Adelaide lol.
Hey PSISLE reckon you could source me a set in sunny South Oz?
I reckon he might if he could only get his hands on them....!
I may struggle with that, even for you big daddy. Can’t get one set let alone 20 sets for our wanting brethren
Had my MSE done today. With all of 520 kms on the clock. Oh well. At least that's over. I hope.
Got my letter yesterday........ How long did they need to do it?
Dropped it off at 7:30. Was ready for pickup by 14:00
My customer's Redline has been repaired on Tuesday and is ready to be delivered today. I believe the overall work can be done within half a day, but your local service department may require for the car to be in for the whole day.
The actually work done was noted as the following:
MY17 Commodore / Caprice Gen IV LS3 Inlet Valve
I checked with Holden Care. They looked it up and my Sept Build HSV needs the fix. Called dealer and they will call when they receive the parts. Said it is fine to drive; only 650 ks on it. Hope the parts arrive soon as I know the issue can happen at any mileage.
The thing that I am puzzled about is if all these LS3 and LSA motors are made in Mexico, how come this does't appear to be an issue in the US? Or did Holden fit the rockers here in Oz?
