Well I guess you could sell your old ones and make some money back off them but still get that tranny sorted first I reckon and spend the $$ on petrol instead :)

Tranny comes first for sure, the rest shall follow

So I went for a drive through the Adelaide hills today, it's first open road run. These are my symptoms or findings. Car lacks power from get go but also lacks throttle response upon acceleration. There is an obvious flat spot whilst engaged in 'drive' or 'sports mode', also lacking throttle response in 'manual' mode. Couple of times transmission has changed gears abruptly and slipped during subtle take off, from a stationary position. Shifting between 'Park' and 'Reverse' or vice versa, is not smooth but stiff. On the odd occasional cold start, when reverse gear is engaged the car does not move at all until the accelerator pedal is applied. :eek:Apart from that, 'Hey it was a great day out with my wife & kids':)

That's all quite disappointing!
Hoping for your sake there's a simple explanation such as Trans needs a service or a faulty sensor somewhere.
If it's still in warranty be careful about doing too much work on it yourself as you don't want them blaming you for anything.

So do i, and no I won't touch anything nor a third party mechanic. Quite disappointed though with the selling dealer.

I wonder if it would be worth while going to the Holden Factory at Elizabeth, wonder if someone would check it out there?

Lol not sure how that would go down... They might have a spare box they could throw in though :)
Trans specialist should be fine though they. Can hardly complain about a second professional opinion.

Being a x rental probably had a hard life. I would go back to dealer park in the driveway and report as unsafe to drive and fix before taking it back. No joy Holden customer care/ today tonight etc. Mates work had a rental VF come in that hit a roo split radiator and kept driving, engine was sick so sent to auctions. Good luck

Definitely sounds like your problem is manifesting itself as reluctant downshifting. Possibly internal but not necessarily.
You've said hard to shift in/out park and reverse which sounded like the shifter is difficult to move. If this is the case it MAY indicate the transmission has been out of the vehicle.
Definitely follow 426 Cudas advice. Take your drive summary to Holden Dealer. Say your concerned about safety. Stand your ground. Good luck.
