Great to see some more pics of the build. Not sure where in vic you are but any chance of bringing this to Port Melbourne in a couple of weeks?

Distance isn't a problem for me, I don't mind driving. I don't want to rush putting it all back together though so I'd rather take my time and be happy with the end result. I'll have to come to one of the chrome bumper meets though! I was keen to go to the last one, but the was off the road at that stage too.

They're both referring to me. Looks very similar to mine, except mine already has the correct amount of pistons, just the crank is a bit short on throw (as all 304's are), that's all.

After reading the start of your thread, it's strangely similar. Even down to the 304 coming out of a vq statesman...

I didn't choose the colour though, that was already chosen for me. The PO already painted the interior and I decided it would be easiest to continue with the colour, and now I'm happy that I did. It's kinda grown on me. The dude I brought it off said that they planned to make it a sandman mockup with the sandman decals and everything. I thought about it, but the stickers are too expensive for me at this stage.

if you dont mine me asking, eyy, what do you do for a living?
I've worked in hospitality for the past 6 years or so. I'm at uni and will be for the next couple of years, so the hospitality work gives me the money I need to fund my projects. Essentially, I'm just a poor uni student :p

wow ok! im pretty impressed at those welds then, i wouldve guessed you as some form of trade for sure.

wish my welds looked like that when i first started on the impala :p maybe then i wouldnt be re-doing everything.

But then your build thread wouldn't be nearly as interesting :p

I learned to arc weld when i was 15 because I wanted to make a motorbike trailer, and things just escalated from there lol. It started out as a 3 bike trailer for road use, now it's a 5 bike trailer for off-road use and 4x4 tyres. Fair to say it's seen some real abuse. It hasn't broken... Yet :p

Decided that I didn't want a cable or linkage clutch. Went to the wreckers and found a master and slave cylinder out of a mazda 626 and bolted it on to see if it would work (a bit poorly at first - pretty flimsy

The 6 left a lot of empty space in the engine bay... :( - you can see the master cylinder mounted in the corner. I used another brake pedal as the clutch pedal, just modified it a bit (read: a lot) and now the clutch feels great and I havent had any problems with it so far. It's a really neat setup. I don't have any recent photos of the final adjustments I've made with the bracket though.

Small update...The pistons have been fitted to the rods and i'm going to pick them up tomorrow, hopefully i'll have the motor back together by the end of the week. Then I'll try and do the engine swap next week sometime.

Anyway, a few more pics :p

A shot of the interior - new carpet and the seats look like they've just been upholstered. The interior was actually in really good condition, and the previous owner purchased a reproduction lower dash for it.
