Post the details of the tyres too (model, size, even a picture of the details of the tyres), so we all know which types can be troublesome even though they’re in the manufacturer’s specification.
The standard T001 Turanza that came out on Calais.

My advice is stay away from Bridgestone. Not that it appears they make the tyre of choice for a lot of people here, just be aware their standards are broader than other manufacturers.
Michelin for me and the 5 other cars in this household from now on.

The only thing I feel bad about is the local franchisee cops it the worst as it takes 5 cars away from his business and that poor bugger had nothing to do with it.

Oh, and I should add I’m sorry that the avenue you took didn’t work out. Maybe not all is lost.

Keep in mind just because the tyre manufacturer says the tyre vibrations are within their margins, it doesn’t mean the average punter would think such vibrations are also ok. Many an average punter may feel there is a defect somewhere in the vehicle (which is the product you bought after all, you didn’t buy the tyres separately).

Also, the vehicle maker may have a differing view on the overall quality of their product as a whole, than the component tyre supplier. This may be due to the vehicle maker seeing their product living higher up the market sector (their product is the whole car not a tyre). As such they may have already costed some warranty for out of spec tyres... who knows...

I still feel that knowing your statutory warranty rights and going to the vehicle seller is often a better approach. Yeah, I know others have a differing view but in this case it seems the horse bit you rather than getting it straight :oops: No disrespect meant :)

Hopefully you still have the energy to deal with this, otherwise just buy a new set of pirellies or anything other than Bridgestone and be done with it.
Let me just sit on this for a bit and I'll see how i feel then

It'd be more to do with the manufacture date of the tyres...Generally when an issue crops up with tyres, the manufacturer takes note of the build date of the tyres and recalls them.

Bridgestone called back today and could not find fault with the tyres and the tyres are within their spec. They also acknowledged the road force test result they got were the same as the results I got. So at least the results were consistent.
So, as the tyres are within Bridgestone limits, there will be no replacement.

I let them know it will be the last set of Bridgestone tyres this family will be rolling on

Damn shame....I honestly thought Bridgestone would at least replace them to keep customer satisfaction....Looks like they don't care about customer satisfaction, through their head office

Sorting problems can be draining and i understand that. Pity some companies process exacerbate warranty claim difficulties via their silly processes which only serves to work in their favour by tiring us out. It's sad but it is what it is.

Just enjoy the sun a little before the cold and wet of winter sets in, that's if it still rains in S.A o_O

I wonder if the OP knows the weather patterns in S.A, considering they live in Coffs Harbour....Last I knew, Coffs Harbour was in NSW....Might be wrong, especially with the crazy weather patterns happening in S.A

Oh, here is the VF workshop manual which has the following sections:

<General Information>
<Description and Operation>
<Vibration Diagnosis and Correction>
<5. Vibration Analysis - Tire and Wheel>
and
<18. Tire and Wheel Inspection>
upto
<23. Tire and Wheel Assembly Isolation Test>

It's worth reading <description and operation> and <vibration diagnosis and corretion> sections 5, 18-23 as a minimum . Maybe skim the other sections. It should give you an idea of the complexity the issue.

Anyway, I use a PC and open the PDF within LibreOffice (free software) then i click on the bookmarks icon on the left of the window which opens an index i can click on to ope that section making it easier to navigate ;) Sadly the hyperlinks within the doc don't work :oops:

I've also had some minor vibrations but never had any dealer service tech follow such process using such equipment. In one case I could hear a whine but the tech couldn't hear anything however he was able to loudly pronounce that my concerns are "normal for the model"? One can only laugh at that o_O

But i'm in no hurry as these concerns have been logged already - customer to monitor or such :rolleyes: Gues I'm still to work through the often stated jc comments that with some dealers, repaired cars can come back worse than when it they went in :oops:

Oops, looked at the wrong post thinking it was from King46 and saw location: south australia. No biggy in any case.

King46 can relax at any time of the year as it don't think it ever gets really cold in Coffs Harbour. Locals may have a different opinion :p
