Looking for a spare rodeo wheel in melbourne

I'm moving back to WA soon, so I've bought a trailer to move some things back. It's one of those tubs of a hilux, and the guy i bought it off says the wheels are off a Hilux. It's got nice shiny new looking wheels on it, but the spare looks like its been in the sea for the last 50 years and i...

Calais climate control on 'AUTO' throws to demister when uphill grade ?? vacuum issue

Hmm, mine goes in tomorrow morning, I'll make sure to point them in that direction first, see if it'll save them a few hours of searching for the problem.

Calais climate control on 'AUTO' throws to demister when uphill grade ?? vacuum issue

I noticed this myself (VZ Adventra) on a 40 degree day about 2 weeks ago, same thing happened at anything more than moderate acceleration, hot air from windscreen vents. wasn't really dependent on uphill/downhill. Hasn't happened before or since that day. Although now i notice that when i have...

    VR Commodore wagon rear speakers.

I dont have any photos to show you, and the car has since passed away, but i mounted my 6x9s on an angle (about 45 degrees) in my VP wagon so that the one on the fuel filler side would fit into the available hole and the speakers would still match. it actually looks quite nice compared to the...

Air-con Fan on all the time

Yeah, swapping the suspect relay with the one for the horn is my favorite trick. if the horn stays on all the time or won't work at all, you've found the culprit

What the .... did i just see

Possibly a couple of aftermarket (such as holley) external fuel pumps, bloody noisy things they are (or one fuel pump and a swirlpot made to look the same)

    3rd to 2nd gear shift

Forcing 2nd shouldn't damage anything if you are accelerating, It's only when you start using it to slow the car down you start doing any damage. Also, being able to go from 3 to 2 without pushing/pulling the shift button/lever is much better than puling the lever in a hurry and accidently...

    VN- Cooling Fan not working

hey vnracer, did you get any result on the engine fan? mine quit yesterday on the way back from margaret river. Wouldn't cut in at all, not even with the AC turned on so i opened the little black box in front of the washer bottle up, swapped the fan relay with the horn relay and she's all fixed...

    does dealer warranty cover battery?

The battery probably isn't covered by the dealers warranty, but there will be a battery manufacturers warranty (Exide or whoever made it) any place that does free battery checks should be able to tell you when it was installed, or at least when it was made. Anything over two years old will be...

    Battery costs

The best thing for your battery when you discharge it a lot/often is to put it on a charger once a month overnight to top it off. (you're alternator really doesn't put as much back in as you'd think or like)

    Battery costs

A high CCA battery doesn't mean that it is good for running your stereo from for hours on end. High CCA means that it can put out a heap of amps all at once for short periods of time (really good for starting). The 'standby time' Is printed on the battery next to the CCA rating This is...

Electric Car Does The Quarter Mile In 5 FIVE SECONDS....

Charge time is getting to be less of an issue, although it really isn't that big a deal to start with, To put a different perspective on things, would you rather travel to a service station once a week to put petrol in you're mobile phone to run it, queing for the pump, queing to pay, or would...

Electric Car Does The Quarter Mile In 5 FIVE SECONDS....

You're forgetting the extra traction you get from the downforce of over a ton of well distributed lead acid batteries gives you, in spite of which the car had it's front wheels up in the air for about a third of the track... and the car was street legal and driven there and back as well as...

    sir brock and ebay

I imagine the value of all things signed by the man will soon drop back down to where they wer before (sentimental value only) Since he made quite a habit of signing as much stuff as possible so that the signature would have as little cash value as possible

    eBay Performance Chip Q & A

The following is a straight cut and paste from http://www.fuelsaving.info/chipping.htm "Special mention should be made here of the devices that are connected to the engine ECU's air temperature sensor plug. These are sometimes referred to as "performance chips" by the people who sell them...

    S/C LPG Conversion??

not reccomended due to the risk of backfire, which would be quite nasty when it hits the supercharger. With the new injected gas conversions tho, this no longer happens. Also when LIQUID gas injection finally hits the market, it will act to cool down the intake charge, kinda similar to having an...

Code 42 engine misfired then stopped

im assuming your engine was running when you got the 14.3 volts reading? (that's about what your alternator puts out) the battery voltage should be 12-13 volts, temporarily higher imeddiately after charging. If you suspect your battery, it shouldn't be too hard to get it tested for free...

    New car smell

New car smell is bad for you I'm pretty sure that the smells are associated with the new plastics releasing solvents and aother nasties which are known carcinogens (cancer causing). changes in temperature can speed this up, so try leaving the cars in the sun when possible, stand back when you...

I have broken my car again!!

Sounds very much like the thermostat is wide open (need a new one). The car would be 'running better' Because engine management will be giving it more fuel to try and warm up. The result is a bit more power, but crap economy. As for the smell, the air ducts behind the dash give of funny smells...

Good one from a friend from when he was a kid. Him and his dad driving along one of those long, straight bush track from when they had telegraphs. They were doing about 40Km/h when an emu comes up along side and keeps pace lookin in at them. Dad gets it up to 50, looks over and the emu still...

My VP doesn't seem to have a tyre placard anywhere. I've checked the glove box, around all the doors and under the bonnet with no luck. So it looks like i'll have to get a new one. Can someone please post pics showing where to put the tyre placard? and maybe someone can let me know what tyre...

    useless fire extinguisher transformed

I just thought of another fun use for old fire extinguisher tanks... Fit an air filler valve to it so you can pressure it up at a service station like your tyres. Then, add some air line and solenoid and switch... Then hook it up to a filthy big air horn from a truck wrecking yard! (and try...

Converting to gas on VS - info wanted

If you need the vehicle to be street legal, the gas system must be certified as being installed by a qualified and authorised installer. regarding backfires, Parnell now install gas injection systems which don't backfire or lose power and are more economicall but cost more about $3,800 in WA...

    What gives this sound

When i had my 2.5 cat back put on my v6, it did that straight away. The main difference i think is that the rear resonator is no longer there. IMHO, the burble noise is always there, wether or not it is loud enough to hear depends on how mild or wild your mufflers and resonators are.

remote locking not working at Woolworths

Get her to try the remote while holding it against the front windscreen where it meets the dash on drivers side. If still no good, hold it in drivers side front wheel arch, try again. Does the air-con always draw the same amount of power when it's on???

The air con always cools down to about 3 degrees and then cuts out again to stop from icing up. cuts back in when it gets warm enough 12 degrees? turning the temperature control up or down doesn't affect how the compressor acts, just mixes more or less warmer air with the cold. in other...
